LogRhythm Taps Information Security Veterans


Bill Smith Appointed Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations; Bob Lentz and Dick Williams Join Board

LogRhythm, the leader in cyber threat defense, detection and response, has announced the expansion of its executive management team and board of directors with the appointments of Bill Smith as senior vice president of worldwide field operations and Robert Lentz and Dick Williams as members of the board.

Smith has over 25 years of experience driving global sales organizations to achieve high growth and market leadership. New board members Lentz and Williams also have extensive security and IT expertise. Lentz brings over 30 years of experience in information security technology and management, including the role of Chief Information Security Officer for the U.S. Department of Defense. Williams currently serves as president and CEO of Webroot and has more than four decades of high tech executive and operational leadership experience.

Bill Smith, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations
Bill Smith brings more than 25 years of sales and executive management experience to LogRhythm. His strong track record of building high growth, highly productive global sales operations will support LogRhythm's plans for growth and long term success. Prior to joining LogRhythm, Bill was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at WatchGuard where he was responsible for all aspects of the sales organization in the Americas, EMEA and Asia. Prior to WatchGuard, Bill ran global sales at LANdesk, delivering consistent, rapid growth over several years. Prior to LANdesk, Bill helped build Novell’s success in several senior sales roles, most recently running sales for the Americas. Bill is recognized as an expert on selling methodologies and has taught Question-Based Selling to organizations throughout the world.

Robert Lentz
Robert F. Lentz is the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Cyber, Identity and Information Assurance (CIIA) in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Networks and Information Integration/Chief Information Officer. Starting in November 2000, he served as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Department of Defense (DoD) and, in this capacity, oversaw the department’s $3 billion Information Assurance (IA) & Cyber Security programs. He transformed these programs, which included establishing the first comprehensive IA/Cyber Architecture, supply chain risk management strategy and operationalizing the world's most robust Identity Management System. He also played a key role in leading the United States National Cyber Initiative and the follow-on cyberspace review. Robert started his career with the National Security Agency (NSA) in 1975. Since that time, he has accumulated over 34 years of experience and established himself as a change agent with federal government. Robert also serves on the Board of Directors at FireEye and Sypris Solutions.

Dick Williams
Dick Williams is currently President & CEO of Webroot and brings over four decades of executive and operational leadership experience for technology, software and digital media companies to LogRhythm's board. Dick has worked as CEO or Chairman of several category-defining companies funded by some of the most successful venture capital firms in the world, including Altor Networks (acquired by Juniper Networks), Hyperic (acquired by SprintSource Global), Wily Technology (acquired by Computer Associates) and Illustra Information Technologies (acquired by Informix). He also co-founded and served as Chairman of Quokka Sports, an online immersive sports media company. Williams' executive leadership experience began at IBM, where he spent 22 years in a variety of sales, marketing, product and business management roles. Following IBM, he served as President & CEO of Digital Research, which he turned around and sold to Novell. Williams currently is also an outside director of 3VR and Cloudera.
