New Privacy Impact Assessment Solution
Solution helps organizations understand and automate the process of evaluating, assessing, and reporting on the privacy implications of their enterprise IT systems.
AvePoint, an established leader in enterprise-class big data management, governance, and compliance software solutions for next-generation social collaboration platforms, has announced it joined forces with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) to launch the AvePoint Privacy Impact Assessment (APIA) solution. The IAPP will be the exclusive distributor of APIA to the global privacy community.
“Privacy impact assessments (PIAs) are an important tool being used frequently by organizations to ensure that they are in compliance with global privacy laws and regulations,” said J. Trevor Hughes, CIPP, President & CEO of the IAPP. “We’re excited to collaborate with AvePoint to provide the global privacy community with a technology solution that mitigates the risk inherent with manual PIAs and positions privacy professionals to work more efficiently.”
APIA is an educational solution that helps enterprises understand and automate the process of evaluating, assessing, and reporting on the privacy implications of their enterprise IT systems.
As part of this release, the IAPP and AvePoint have also created an APIA Community Portal for privacy professionals to contribute questions and share best practices with one another in order to build a repository of knowledge and generally accepted questions for commissioning PIAs.
“The AvePoint Privacy Impact Assessment solution is another vital piece in AvePoint’s evolution to offer enterprises the opportunity to build a complete and collaborative governance, risk, and compliance program across their organizations,” said Robert Yonaitis, AvePoint Chief Research Scientist. “Working with the IAPP, the world’s leading privacy organization, to create this innovative solution is a natural fit to ensure we are empowering the global privacy community with the research, education, and solutions necessary for success.”
Attendees can learn more about APIA by visiting AvePoint’s booth at the IAPP Global Privacy Summit (#6) for live demonstrations and one-on-one discussions with subject matter experts. Dana Simberkoff, AvePoint Senior Vice President of Risk Management & Compliance, will also present a session at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, March 6, entitled: “Privacy by Design: Automating Your Privacy Impact Assessments”. In this session, she will highlight best practices for introducing privacy impact assessments into organizations’ technology procurement and development processes.
